Who we are
9s is a revision website for Edexcel GCSE and IGCSE students, run from the UK. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: support@9srevise.online.
What we collect
We collect only what the service needs:
- Your email address and a password (stored securely by our login provider; we never see your password).
- Your study data: flashcard answers, practice question answers and scores, papers you log, the target, current and predicted grades you enter, your mistake log, your chosen subjects, your streak and any problem reports you send about a question.
- Your subscription status. If you subscribe, payment is handled by Stripe. Card details never reach 9s.
- Basic technical data, such as your IP address and browser, in short-lived server logs used to keep the site secure and working.
How we use it and why
- To run your account, show your progress and provide Premium. This is needed to provide the service you signed up for (contract).
- To send emails you need, such as confirming your account and resetting your password (contract).
- To keep 9s secure, stop misuse and fix problems (legitimate interests).
We don’t sell your data, show adverts or use advertising or analytics trackers.
Who we share it with
We use these providers to run 9s. They only process your data to provide their service to us:
- Supabase: database and login. Data stored in Ireland (EU).
- Vercel: website hosting. Requests are handled in London.
- Resend: sending account emails. Ireland (EU).
- Stripe: payments. For Premium, Stripe acts as the seller of record and handles payment, tax and fraud checks under its own privacy policy.
Some of these companies are based in the US and may access data from there. Where that happens, it is protected by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK–US data bridge.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and study data until you delete your account. Server logs are kept for a short time only. Stripe keeps payment records for as long as the law requires.
Students under 18
You must be 13 or over to use 9s. We collect only what is needed to run your account, and we never use your data for advertising or profiling. If you are under 18, please talk to a parent or guardian before subscribing to Premium.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see, correct, download or delete your data, and you can object to how we use it. To do any of these, or to delete your account and all your data, email support@9srevise.online. We will reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
